Bebe Wahyu b.1989 is an Indonesian artist with a painting style that brings the contradiction between dreams and reality into reality in paintings that depict real objects in impossible situations.
Works characterised by realistic depictions of characters are often painted in unusual contexts with a dreamlike, surrealistic touch, generally featuring realistic portraits of little girls, floral motifs, and animals with compositions featuring unique central characters that convey a sense of melancholy and adventure.

Question 1: Can you describe your creative process from conception to completion? What sources of inspiration do you draw upon most frequently in your work?
The creative process is usually carried out in the form of digital sketching & colouring using Wacom Cintiq + Adobe Photoshop tools. For inspiration, I mostly observe children's activities (especially girls) as a source of creative inspiration, such as playing inside the house and outside the house, with friends or alone. Then I combined it with my favourite style, namely melancholic surrealism.
Question 2: How has your style and approach to art evolved over the years? Are there any particular moments or experiences that significantly influenced your artistic development?
The birth of my daughter gave me a clear sense of direction for my style and approach. I am very happy with the path I am now on.
Question 3: What messages or emotions do you aim to convey through your art? How do you hope your audience will interpret and connect with your work?
Expression of children's feelings. There are various different messages and moments in every works I make, ranging from emotion, happiness, hope, sadness, to anger.
