About the Artist
Mónica Loya Calderón is a Mexican visual artist, born September, 1990 in Chihuahua, Chih, Mexico. Her work includes analogue illustration, painting and murals. She has lived and worked independently in Mexico City since 2014.
Mónica Loya syncretises melancholy and everyday life with a perception of nebulous reality, characteristic of our time, where the mass media, the pink and blue colours and the delicate strokes reflect something of the fragility of the present, by altering the patterns of our sensitivity with less conventional figures and contours.
